Academic publisher SAGE Publishing has signed an agreement with the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) to make all their gold Open Access (OA) journals available on CAS's GoOA platform to support access to research in the country.
Funded by CAS, and run by the National Science Library at CAS, GoOA is a non-commercial service, freely available to all scholars and institutions in China. Providing access to SAGE's OA articles in the region via the GoOA platform, this deal aims to both increase the academic influence of open access, as well as assist in providing quality research to Chinese researchers.
The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is the linchpin of China's drive to explore and harness high technology and the natural sciences for the benefit of China and the world. Comprising a comprehensive research and development network, a merit-based learned society and a system of higher education, CAS brings together scientists and engineers from China and around the world to address both theoretical and applied problems using world-class scientific and management approaches.
