Academic publisher SAGE Publishing has partnered with ABSA International to publish Applied Biosafety: Journal of ABSA International. ABSA International is committed to promoting global biosafety awareness, preventing exposures of biohazards in the laboratory and releases to the environment, and developing and sharing best safety practices among biosafety professionals, architects, engineers, and researchers that handle these substances through the publication of Applied Biosafety.
Applied Biosafety publishes new biosafety research, editorials, commentaries, reviews, policy issues, and position papers. The quarterly journal encourages submissions that further the profession of biosafety, biotechnology, research, medicine, and all related professions.
Comprised of more than 1,400 biosafety professionals and practitioners throughout the world, ABSA International was founded in 1984 to promote and expand biological safety expertise. ABSA conducts biosafety courses at the beginner and advanced levels, as well as hosting an Annual Biological Safety Conference to keep its members informed of current biosafety issues and regulatory initiatives, which are also addressed in the journal.
