Academic publisher SAGE Publishing will publish Epilepsy Currents beginning in 2019. The official journal of the American Epilepsy Society (AES), Epilepsy Currents is an open access journal that publishes commentaries on recent significant research published in major epilepsy and seizure disorder journals.
Reaching an audience that includes clinicians and researchers, issues also contain topical scholarly reviews written by a distinguished board of contributing editors. The journal was founded in 2001, and currently has an impact factor of 9.333.
Dr. Jack M. Parent, professor of neurology and director of the Neurodevelopment and Regeneration Laboratory at the University of Michigan Medical School, serves as chief editor of Epilepsy Currents. Other members of the senior editorial team are Dr. Michael Wong, senior editor of basic science research; Dr. David Spencer, senior editor of clinical research; and Dr. Lara Jehi, associate editor of clinical research.
SAGE publishes more than 400 science, technical, and medical journals, as well as a growing collection of open access titles. The company aims to be the world's pre-eminent social science and fastest growing STM publisher.
Epilepsy Currents will be published under a Creative Commons CC BY NC ND license. AES members receive the print subscription as a benefit of membership and all content will continue to be freely available at epilepsycurrents.org and PubMed Central.
