Academic publisher SAGE has announced the January 2010 launch of the journal - Journal of Primary Care & Community Health (JPCCH). Dr. James E. Rohrer will serve as Editor of the journal.
A quarterly publication, JPCCH will publish peer reviewed research about the practice, impact and outcomes of primary care services and community health programmes. It presents evidence in the form of hypothesis-testing studies, either in the form of pilot projects or larger intervention projects. The journal is aimed at those primary care providers and community health professionals who study their own patients for the purpose of promoting health and preventing disease.
JPCCH facilitates exchange of new information and approaches to assessing performance, bridging the gap between medicine and public health at the grass-roots level. The journal will join SAGE’s portfolio of public health journals. It is expected to be of relevance to physicians, allied health professionals, community health educators, and epidemiologists who study health behaviour and health outcomes.
