Publisher SAGE has announced the launch of a multidisciplinary journal for clinicians in pediatric nutrition, titled ICAN: Infant, Child, & Adolescent Nutrition. To debut in January 2009, the journal has an editorial board that comprises dietitians, nurses and nurse practitioners, physicians, speech and language therapists, and specialists in primary and acute pediatric nutritional care.
A bimonthly publication, ICAN is projected as a peer-reviewed resource for healthcare professionals involved in nutritional care of children from birth through adolescence. It will offer the latest information concerning impaired eating, eating disorders, breastfeeding education, and chronic and acute care nutritional support through research reports and reviews, clinical perspectives and case studies.
Linda Heller, Clinical Nutrition Director of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, has been named Editor of the journal. The journal's website is at http://ican.sagepub.com.
