SAGE's Ed McBride elected United for Libraries president-elect -

Ed McBride, executive director of library sales for SAGE, has been elected 2014-2015 United for Libraries vice president/president elect.

McBride was formerly chief member engagement officer at LYRASIS, senior vice president of Cengage Gale's Customer Resource Center and director of support services for the San Francisco Public Library. He is currently enrolled in the MLS-Executive Librarian Program at San Jose State University. He earned a bachelor of science degree in library technology and administration at the University of Memphis. He served on the board of United for Libraries from 2009 to 2013, as well as on several United for Libraries committees and on Public Library Association (PLA) committees.

Four additional United for Libraries board positions were filled during the election. Donna McDonald and Don Roalkvam were elected trustees at large. McDonald is director of the Arkansas River Valley Regional Library System, Dardanelle, Ark. Roalkvam is treasurer of the board of trustees at Indian Trails Public Library District, Wheeling, Ill. Peggy Barber and Michael LaCroix were elected friends at large. Barber is a consultant for Library Communication Strategies, Inc., in Chicago. LaCroix is senior library director at the Reinert-Alumni Memorial Library at Creighton University, Omaha, Neb.
