ScholarSphere: Measuring the impact of OA publishing -

Users of ScholarSphere, Penn State’s institutional repository service, will receive monthly reports detailing the impact of the research products they have contributed, including preprints, posters, data sets, research software and other open-access scholarly products, effective September 1.

Users will be provided updated statistics on the number of new downloads of their works and a link to other statistics available through the ScholarSphere dashboard. This information will better equip researchers to identify how their work is being used by the broader academic community.

Offered in partnership between Penn State University Libraries and Penn State Information Technology, ScholarSphere is a service for sharing research and scholarly work produced by the University community. This initiative is part of Penn State's commitment to supporting open-access publishing and research through services for creating, managing and facilitating access to digital scholarship in all its forms. Through ScholarSphere, Penn State, faculty, students and staff are able to share their work on a worldwide scale and be assured of its long-term preservation and access.
