SCI, the global innovation hub, has unveiled SCI Sustainability, a Gold Open Access interdisciplinary journal dedicated to sharing ground breaking research addressing sustainability challenges. This new journal is part of the SCI Innovate Open series and aims to bring fresh perspectives to the conversation on global sustainability issues by fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration.
SCI Sustainability will focus on amplifying discussions and research from various fields, including science, industry, social sciences, law, economics, and ethics. The journal’s goal is to ensure that new discoveries are accessible to a global audience, promoting a wider dialogue on the critical challenges facing the world. The journal’s interdisciplinary approach seeks to bring together diverse expertise to address these complex, interconnected issues.
SCI Sustainability, launched during SCI’s Where Science Meets Business event in November, is co-led by two distinguished co-editors-in-chief: Professor Luuk van der Wielen, Bernal Chair of Biosystems Engineering & Design at the University of Limerick, Ireland, and Distinguished Professor of Biobased Economy at Delft University of Technology, Netherlands; and Professor Nazia Habib, Founder and Research Director for the Resilience and Sustainable Development Program at Cambridge University.
The journal is designed to ensure its coverage of innovations is grounded in real-world challenges, helping to facilitate large-scale, lasting change in sustainability efforts. To support this goal, SCI Sustainability has established an Industry Advisory Board (IAB), comprising senior sustainability executives from various scientific sectors. The IAB will guide the journal in aligning its content with practical solutions and ongoing global sustainability initiatives.
Submissions to SCI Sustainability are now open, with author guidelines available on the journal’s website. As part of its commitment to promoting open access, all article publication charges are currently being waived. This initiative underscores SCI’s dedication to making critical research in sustainability freely accessible to all.
