Publisher SciTech Publishing, US, has announced a partnership with the Istituto Superiore Mario Boella (ISMB) of Torino, Italy, and the International Union of Radio Science (URSI) to launch a new book series in Radio Science. The Mario Boella Series on Electromagnetism in Information & Communication series will cover applications of electromagnetism in all areas of Radio Science, with special emphasis on information and communication techniques.
Consisting of textbook and research monographs, the series is to honour the memory of Professor Boella, Vice President of URSI from 1966-1969, who for half a century, beginning in 1929, pioneered the development of electromagnetics, electronics and telecommunications in Italy. Each approved book in the series will receive a financial grant going towards high quality production and exceptionally reasonable prices. Prof. Piergiorgio L.E. Uslenghi of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Illinois at Chicago has been selected as series editor and will work with an editorial board consisting of Nader Engheta (Univ. of Pennsylvania); Yahya Rahmat-Samii (Univ. of California, Los Angeles); Werner Wiesbeck (Universität Karlsruhe); and Rodolfo S. Zich (ISMB).
The books will be in the general area of Radio Science and will include topics that match URSI’s ten international commissions. These include electromagnetic metrology; fields and waves; signals and systems; electronics and photonics; electromagnetic environment and interference; wave propagation and remote sensing; ionospheric radio and propagation waves in plasmas; radio astronomy; and electromagnetics in Biology and Medicine.
