Scope to present “Metadata – Enhancing Discoverability and Search Precision” at Hot Spot stage at Frankfurt Book Fair -

Scope e-Knowledge Center, a leading provider of content enhancement and knowledge services, will be presenting "Metadata – Enhancing Discoverability and Search Precision" at the Professional & Scientific Information (Hall 4.2) Hot Spot stage on October 10, 2013 from 11.30 am – 12 noon at the upcoming Frankfurt Book Fair. Rich Kobel, Vice President, Business Development will explore the challenges of creating accurate and consistent descriptive metadata to enhance knowledge discovery and facilitate reliable and relevant semantic enrichment.

Scope's presentation will provide insights on how metadata evolved as the publishing environment transitioned from the conventional publishing model to semantically enriched publishing models using technology platforms. With increased emphasis given to 'power browsing' of concepts versus traditional content in search environments, the key challenges of accuracy and relevancy are heightened by technology enabled-semantic enrichment, and the importance of descriptive metadata as a solution to these challenges will be discussed.

Tram Venkatraman, President of Scope, commented, "Scope has spent a lot of time examining some of the implementations of automated semantic enrichment solutions. We believe there is a need for more descriptive metadata, curated by subject matter experts, to achieve the end users’ expectations for discoverability and precision. Our presentation will illustrate this point."

With plug & play multimedia stands, exclusive meeting areas and live presentation platforms, Frankfurt Hot Spots are vibrant nodes of innovation at the world's largest gathering of publishing and media content professionals. Hot Spot exhibitors and presenters range from technical specialists and digital content providers to marketing pioneers and Internet innovators. Each Hot Spot focuses on one industry sector of emerging innovation.

During the Book fair, Scope will demonstrate its capabilities for publishers and other information providers. Attendees are invited to visit the Scope stand (M68, Hall 4.2) to discover more about the services offered by the company. Scope representatives will be on hand to discuss Scope's unique assisted automation approach that blends the use of appropriate technologies with rich Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to deliver scalable, cost-effective and high-value output.
