To develop a digitisation strategy is the major challenge for companies handling large amounts of data. This also involves dealing with artificial intelligence and semantic technologies. How to implement these megatrends into operational processes and workflows will be one of the key subjects of the SEMANTiCS 2019. At this international conference, held from September 9 to 12 in Karlsruhe, top speakers from industry and science will present trends and recipes for successfully using AI systems.
One of the core technologies for reducing complexity in business processes are knowledge graphs. For everyone whose work depends on reliable data it is a highly time-consuming task to identify, connect, understand, and interpret the appropriate issues and pieces of information. SEMANTiCS 2019 wants to show IT decision-makers how companies can develop their own knowledge graphs throughout the entire Linked Data Life Cycle in order to improve the quality of complex processes based on networked data.
Lectures, panels, and workshops will present numerous implementation projects for enterprises. Topics include process optimisation and automation, information logistics and data management as well as business development and customer relationship management. Community events will offer the opportunity to discuss the future and significance of artificial intelligence with international high-tech experts.
The keynotes will be held by renowned experts from the USA and Europe, among them Willem Manders, Head of Knowledge Management at Shell, Michel Dumontier, Professor of Data Science at Maastricht University, Valentina Presutti, researcher at the Semantic Technology Laboratory of the National Research Council (CNR) in Rome, and Michael J. Sullivan, Principal Cloud Solutions Architect at Oracle. They will provide cutting-edge insights from research and business.
SEMANTiCS is an established knowledge hub where technology professionals, industry experts, researchers and decision makers can learn about new technologies, innovations and enterprise implementations in the fields of Linked Data and Semantic AI. Founded in 2005 the SEMANTiCS is the only European conference at the intersection of research and industry.
This year's event is hosted by the Semantic Web Company, FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure GmbH, Fachhochschule St. Pölten Forschungs GmbH, KILT Competence Center am Institut für Angewandte Informatik e.V. and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
