Serials Solutions, a US-based provider of tools and services for libraries and a business unit of ProQuest LLC, has announced an agreement with ARTstor to enable the discovery of its visual materials collections from the Summon web-scale discovery service. ARTstor Digital Library provides more than one million images in the areas of art, architecture, humanities and sciences with a set of tools to view, present, and manage images for research and pedagogical purposes.
ARTstor Digital Library's collections, which include contributions from museums, individual photographers, scholars, libraries, artists, artists' estates and photo archives, have been widely accessed by teachers and students of art history, architecture, literature, world history, humanities and other related fields of study. However, with the integration of ARTstor's data in the Summon service index, users from all disciplines will soon be able to discover a more comprehensive wealth of visual materials.
The agreement with ARTstor is the latest content announcement from Serials Solutions. The Summon service currently provides one of the most customisable, all-inclusive digital starting points for access to a library's serials resources. The service allows researchers to quickly and easily search content from more than 6,800 providers with over 600 million records.
