Serials Solutions and Bridgeman Education partnership to enable discovery of images from the Summon service -

Serials Solutions, a US-based provider of tools and services for libraries and a business unit of ProQuest LLC, has announced an agreement with Bridgeman Education to enable discovery of Bridgeman's vast visual arts collection from the Summon service. Bridgeman's digital art collection provides a central source of fine art images for users and features content from over 8,000 collections and more than 29,000 artists, representing a diverse archive of images from international museums, galleries and artists.

Many researchers are seen to rely on Bridgeman Education to provide the most accurate and relevant visual materials and references for their projects. With the Summon service, researchers will now be able to easily discover imagery from the Bridgeman collection such as fine art, cultural and historical images spanning every subject, concept, style and medium. Bridgeman Education represents thousands of image suppliers including: artists, museums, galleries, libraries, institutions, universities, stately homes, auctioneers, photographers, picture libraries and private collections.

The agreement is the latest content announcement from Serials Solutions. More than 250 libraries worldwide subscribe to the Summon service because it provides a clear starting point for research, and consistently demonstrates a substantial increase in usage of library materials. Currently, the Summon service allows researchers to search the full text of content from more than 7,000 providers and contains more than 750 million records.
