E-Resource Access and Management Services (ERAMS) provider Serials Solutions, US, a business unit of ProQuest Information and Learning, has announced that its catalogers can ‘CONSER authenticate’ non-CONSER records for distribution as new records. Now a CONSER Affiliate member of the Library of Congress’ Serial Record Division with full permissions, Serials Solutions can improve the quality of CONSER records used worldwide and provide current clients of Serials Solutions 360 MARC Update service with new and enhanced records.
The expanded scope of Serials Solutions work within the CONSER database provides a welcome new source of records and data that can be added to existing CONSER records. The benefits of this work extend to subscribers and clients of the variety of products that rely on CONSER records to update and maintain services.
Serials Solutions CONSER membership started in 2006 with maintenance of CONSER records. In the past year Serials Solutions role expanded to include the contribution of new records to the CONSER database. Serials Solutions also joined the Name Authority Cooperative Program of the PCC (NACO), enabling Serials Solutions catalogers to create new name authority records.
