The Sheridan Technology Lab has announced significant enhancements to existing features for their Full-Text Mobile App offering, as well as several proprietary new features. Working closely with a number of scientific, technical, and medical publishers on current app development, The Technology Lab identified unique revenue and reporting needs that could be met through the creation of new features.
New features / enhancements include comprehensive advertising options; industry standard compliant usage reporting; image carousel; CrossRef/Pub Med citations; highlighted search terms; in-article search; citation range pop-ups.
For journals that offer advertisement opportunities, the comprehensive advertising feature now provides even more monetisation options. In addition to rotating offline ads, the app accommodates more advertisement sizes, including medium rectangle, leader board, and interstitial formats. It also features the ability to target ads geographically. These powerful options offer greater flexibility and increased revenue potential.
The image carousel feature creates a convenient image-to-image navigation experience, without the need to return to article detail between images.
Sheridan Full-Text Mobile Journal Apps are currently in use by many prominent STM publishers. Popular features include user-configurable content caching for offline viewing, full-text article or abstract viewing (including publish-ahead-of-print), multi-tier title and author search, article bookmarking, and article sharing via email, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
