SIMPOI 2011 Symposium of Production Management,Logistics and International Operations aims to make space for the dissemination and discussion of contemporary issues and relevant area of Production and Operations Management in Brazil. Researchers interested in Operations Management are invited to submit papers to this conference.
Papers which address the conference theme are encouraged though others subjects are also welcome. The papers will be examined according to the categories - Scientific Papers and Education Cases.
Papers in the Scientific Papers category must focus on conceptualisation. They should comprise an introduction (objective of the paper), methodology, interpretation of results, conclusions and bibliographic references. Papers are expected to favour a theoretical point of view in order to support its conceptual perception and the consistent formulation of hypothesis, through well-defined concepts and the appropriate number of references to authors and other crucial works in the respective area.
The method adopted must be rigorous enough to ensure both internal and external effectiveness. Procedures have to be reasonable and relevant. Integration between the method chosen (qualitative or quantitative), the subject of research and theory is also required. Moreover, the paper must greatly contribute to one of the two areas of knowledge: theoretical or theoretical-empirical.
The structure of papers in the Education Cases category is less rigid compared to that of scientific papers, being their respective authors free to choose the most applicable solution.
The best works in 10 subject areas will receive honours, regardless of category – education cases or case of education. The best work of the congress, including all categories and thematic areas, will receive the Award Claude Machline.
