Singapore research organisation partners with MSC to launch online publication -

Macmillan Scientific Communications (MSC) and Singapore-based Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) have announced the launch of a new open access website, A*STAR Research (http://www.research.a-star.edu.sg/). The free online publication aims to highlight key research material published by A*STAR’s research institutions.

Established in 2002, A*STAR’s seeks to foster world-class scientific research and talent for a vibrant knowledge-based Singapore. It oversees 14 research institutes as well as seven consortia and centres located in the Biopolis and Fusionopolis complexes of the island nation. A*STAR Research, under the editorship of Charles Zukoski, is looking to present timely research highlights describing in easy-to-understand terms important research achievements published in the recent scientific literature by A*STAR. It will also cover in-depth features on the latest A*STAR innovations in science and engineering. The website will be accompanied by a twice-yearly 60-page print compilation of research highlights and feature articles.

MSC, established last year in the Tokyo offices of NPG Nature Asia-Pacific, provides custom publishing services to research institutions in the public and private sector to help publicise and promote their best research. By leveraging the editorial, marketing and advertising skills of NPG, A*STAR expects to rapidly raise the profile and awareness of its own scientific research.
