Data capture and enterprise search solutions provider Brainware, Inc., US, has announced an OEM partnership with library technology solutions provider SirsiDynix, US. Under the deal, SirsiDynix will embed Globalbrain, Brainware's intelligent data retrieval application, into its next-generation search products.
The agreement is projected to significantly expand Globalbrain's reach, making it available to more than 20,000 libraries in 70 countries. The technology will provide information seekers with fuzzy search, dynamic categorisation and other capabilities that will empower them to discover more content from more sources. This includes libraries' own catalogs, subscription resources, digital collections, Web content, disparate data sources and social networking data.
Globalbrain is claimed to be the world's only search tool that does not rely on exact definitions to find data. Built on associative memory concepts, it provides context-based information retrieval capabilities. The solution does not require complex indexing, taxonomies or dictionaries, and is language- agnostic.
