Library technology solutions provider SirsiDynix, US, has announced the launch of SirsiDynix Enterprise, a new faceted search product that seeks to become the foundation for a range of user experience solutions. SirsiDynix Enterprise provides the groundwork that will support community/social networking capabilities such as user reviews, rankings and tagging and more in future releases.
The new product is an easy add-on to current SirsiDynix OPACs. It offers libraries an easy, cost-effective way to build on existing user experience investments to deliver next-generation user experience solutions. SirsiDynix Enterprise will be available to users of SirsiDynix OPACs, including SirsiDynix Symphony e-Library, Horizon Information Portal, iBistro, iLink, Ecole and Web2, in the third quarter of 2008.
Specific features of the upcoming summer release of SirsiDynix Enterprise include industry-first fuzzy search technology, highly efficient search index updating, intuitive user interfaces, powerful finding aids, consortia support, deep integration with SirsiDynix integrated library systems and next-generation OPAC functionality.
