The Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) has named Dr. David C. Cone as the next Editor-in-Chief of Academic Emergency Medicine (AEM), the society's official journal, effective January 2009. Dr. Cone will succeed Dr. Michelle H. Biros, who is completing her second five-year term.
Dr. Cone is an associate professor of emergency medicine and public health at Yale University School of Medicine. He has served as a senior associate editor at AEM since 2001, and has also served as deputy editor of Prehospital Emergency Care, the official journal of the National Association of EMS Physicians, where he currently serves as president.
Published by Wiley-Blackwell, AEM publishes information relevant to the practice, educational advancements, and investigation of emergency medicine. The journal seeks to promote the advancement of emergency medicine research, education, and clinical practice. Each issue contains information relevant to the investigations, educational advancements, and practice of emergency medicine.
