Society for General Microbiology announce new Editors-in-Chief -

The Society for General Microbiology has announced two new Editors-in-Chief (EiC) that are joining the Society's growing stable of publications. Dr Tanya Parish will be the new EiC of Microbiology, while Professor Mark Harris will be the new Co-EiC of the Journal of General Virology.

Tanya Parish is Vice President of Drug Discovery at the Infectious Disease Research Institute, where she heads the TB Discovery Research group, researching pathogenesis and discovering new treatments for tuberculosis. She is also an Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington. Dr Parish was previously a Senior Editor for Microbiology and succeeds Dr Agnès Fouet as the new EiC.

Mark Harris is Professor of Virology at the University of Leeds, where he researches the interactions of hepatitis C and chikungunya viruses with their respective host cells. Professor Harris has a long-standing relationship with the Society, having previously been an Editor of Journal of General Virology and Chair of the Virus Division. He is currently Chair of the Scientific Conferences Committee. Professor Harris will join Dr Stacey Efstathiou as Co-EiC of Journal of General Virology.
