Sorbonne University selects Ex Libris Alma and Primo to improve library services -

Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that Sorbonne University has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution as part of a drive to improve library services. The new system will simplify workflows for library staff and patrons and automate many key tasks, giving staff members more time to develop innovative services and support patrons from any location.

In recent years, the university has been using multiple library products, resulting in complex administrative rules and discrepancies in reporting services. Furthermore, many of the legacy tools do not comply with the latest standards in digital technology or support off-campus learning and working.

With the Alma platform, the university library will be able to automate workflows and allow staff to manage resources in a single, unified system that can be operated from anywhere via the Ex Libris higher-ed cloud platform. The Alma user-centered design and personalised dashboard will facilitate library management and provide efficient reporting capabilities, while the Primo discovery solution will help users find what they need, quickly and easily, whether on or off-campus.

The Alma and Primo combination offers a flexible, customisable solution that is consistent with the digital practices of staff and users and today’s need for remote services. The new solution will facilitate the day-to-day work of the library staff and improve work processes.
