TechWeb (formerly CMP) and O'Reilly Media, Inc., co-producers of the annual Web 2.0 Summit, have announced the speaker list for the fifth Web 2.0 Summit, to be held November 5-7 in San Francisco. At the annual Summit, speakers such as Al Gore, Lance Armstrong, Saul Griffith, Elon Musk, and Michael Pollan will attempt to provide answers to the big thematic question of "How can we apply the lessons of the Web to the world at large?".
The Web 2.0 Summit has become the gathering place for business leaders of the new Web, bringing together the most influential to discuss and debate the most important issues and strategies driving the Internet economy and what we might expect in the coming year. Over 70 thought leaders and entrepreneurs are scheduled to present in an interactive format stressing audience participation. Top executives from platform businesses will address the future of the Web in plenary sessions.
Web 2.0 Summit is produced by partners O'Reilly Media, Inc. and TechWeb and is moderated by John Battelle, Program Chair, and O'Reilly CEO Tim O'Reilly. The Summit is known for its interactive format, encouraging audience interaction and participation. Attendance is limited to maintain an intimate setting and foster dialog among participants. General attendee registration is by invitation only. Requests for invitations are being accepted through mid-September.
