Special issue of Emerald journal focuses on energy sector management issues in China -

Academic and professional literature publisher Emerald Group Publishing Limited, UK, has published a special issue of the International Journal of Energy Sector Management focusing on energy sector management issues in China. The Special Issue highlights the growing importance of developing countries like China in the global energy scene, along with the increasing energy needs of China and the related energy supply issues.

In line with Emerald's "Research you can use" publishing philosophy, the publication takes a multidisciplinary approach to address the challenges faced by the energy sector in China, with topics such as effects of growth on the local economy; energy security; environmental issues related to coal use; emissions trading and the renewable energy development in China.

This issue was guest edited by Wenke Han, Director General of Energy Research Institute, and the Director General of the Center for Energy Conservation Information Dissemination of National Development and Reform Commission. Among the articles included in the issue are Coal Mining in China- Policy and Environment under Market Reform by Songli Zhu and Judith A Cherni, China's renewable energy development by Zhongying Wang and Junfeng Li and China's energy security situation and countermeasures by Xiaoli Liu and Xinmin Jang.

The International Journal of Energy Sector Management is co-edited by Dr Subhes C Bhattacharyya, from the University of Dundee, and Dr Prasanta Kumar Dey, from Aston Business School, Birmingham. The journal aims to facilitate dissemination of research on issues relating to supply management, demand and usage management, waste management, customer and other stakeholder management.
