Photonics Insights, a new Diamond Open Access journal co-published by SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, and Chinese Laser Press (CLP), has published its inaugural issue.
Photonics Insights, an all-review, invite-only journal is available online in the SPIE Digital Library, as well as on CLP's Researching platform. Each quarterly issue consists of review articles that present and evaluate recent advances in core subjects of photonics — from laser optics, quantum optics, and nonlinear optics, to optical communications and nanophotonics — discussing key challenges, potential applications, and future directions for research. The first issue features additional commentaries highlighting important aspects of the reviews.
The journal’s co-editors-in-chief are Fudan University's Lei Zhou and City University of Hong Kong's Din Ping Tsai. In addition, 12 leading scientists from six countries have joined the Photonics Insights editorial team.
The SPIE Digital Library, the world's largest collection of optics and photonics applied research, comprises more than 565,000 publications.
