SPIE announces read and publish agreement with Delft University of Technology -

SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, has announced a new open access agreement with the Netherlands' Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), effective July 1, 2021.

For TU Delft, a long-time subscriber to the SPIE Digital Library, this agreement adds open access publishing in SPIE journals for all affiliated primary and contact authors to the university's existing subscription. The SPIE Digital Library includes more than 530,000 journal papers, proceedings, and conference presentations, covering topical areas from biomedical optics and neuroscience to physics and astronomy-related technology.

According to Just de Leeuwe, Publishing Advisor at TU Delft Library, transformative agreements on a fair and sustainable base are part of TU Delft's Open Science commitments. Working with SPIE to secure this deal helps TU Delft achieve its ambition to reach 100 percent open access.
