The University of Michigan Library’s Scholarly Publishing Office recently added 576 new backlist titles to the ACLS Humanities E-Book (HEB) online collection. This brings the total number of available titles in HEB to 2,790. The works represent more than two dozen disciplines and subject areas, including performance studies, sociology, literary criticism, and the history of the book.
ACLS Humanities E-Book database is a subscription-based, full-text collection of important scholarly works in all areas of the humanities, peer-reviewed and selected for inclusion by twenty different learned societies. The backlist titles are produced from printed books, and can be viewed as page images, OCR'd text, or PDFs. Frontlist titles are born-digital, fully-encoded texts that may include multi-media functionality such as images, audio, or video.
The Scholarly Publishing Office at the University of Michigan Library has been working with scholars to improve publishing since 2001. SPO publishes a broad range of material of interest to scholars in many fields. It works with scholars to design affordable and sustainable publishing solutions.
