STM publisher Springer and the Beijing Normal University have announced the launch of the International Journal of Disaster Risk Science (IJDRS). As a fully sponsored open access journal, it will be included in the SpringerOpen portfolio, available on Springer's online platform SpringerLink.
The SpringerOpen model allows the journal's contents to be fully and immediately open access, available to anyone with an Internet connection. The journal is part of Springer's Chinese Library of Science (CLoS) collection, which comprises more than 90 English-language research journals from China.
The International Journal of Disaster Risk Science publishes research articles addressing theoretical and methodological issues in disaster science, emergency response technology, and risk management; large-scale disaster risk governance; and case studies and comparative research on responses to catastrophes. Its primary aim is to create an exchange platform where researchers, practitioners, and policy makers in the field of disaster risk can collaborate in order to improve the international, national and regional capacities for disaster risk analysis, management, and governance. The international editorial board, made up of renowned experts and scholars, guarantees the high academic standards of the articles and supports a rapid manuscript review process.
SpringerOpen journals are published under the Creative Commons Attribution license, which facilitates the open distribution of copyrighted works. Under this license, Springer will not reserve any exclusive commercial rights.
