Springer, a global scientific, technical and medical portfolio, will collaborate with the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) to publish its official journal, the Canadian Journal of Public Health, beginning January 1, 2018. This new collaboration will allow Springer and the Canadian Public Health Association to work together to streamline publication processes for the journal and disseminate peer-reviewed articles on all aspects of public health to an international audience.
The Canadian Journal of Public Health aims to advance public health research and practice in Canada and around the world. It was originally founded in 1910 as The Public Health Journal and is currently self-published by the CPHA. The journal is headed by Editor-in-chief Louise Potvin, who is professor in the school of public health at the University of Montreal in Canada.
Topics covered within the scope of the journal include all aspects of public health and preventive medicine such as health promotion, epidemiology, and environmental health with a special focus on population health intervention research. The journal therefore contributes to improving the health of populations and reducing health inequalities.
Target readership is researchers, policy-makers, practitioners, academics, students, and professionals in the fields of public, global, and population health, as well as health promotion and equity.
Authors may submit original research articles, reviews, and correspondence in English or French and have the option of publishing open access. The journal's online manuscript submission system is now accepting new submissions.
