Springer, part of Springer Nature, has launched a scholarly peer-reviewed journal which promotes the interdisciplinary study of higher psychological functions in human phenomena. The journal, Human Arenas, will publish a mix of theoretical and empirical studies, focusing on the analysis and critical discussion of crucial, meaningful data. Submissions will be accepted from November 15, 2017, and the first issue will be published in spring 2018. Rather than an accumulation of empirical evidence, Human Arenas encourages the exploration of ideas and productive thinking through novel forms of scientific enquiry and writing.
The journal will be headed by two editors-in-chief - Pina Marsico of the University of Salerno in Italy, and Luca Tateo from the Centre for Cultural Psychology at Aalborg University in Denmark. The vision of the journal is to provide an interdisciplinary space for debate in which psychology researchers can share knowledge in dialogue with researchers in all other social science disciplines. Issues will be available both online and in print, and authors will have the option of publishing open access.
Human Arenas encourages contributions from all disciplines of psychology, as well as those researchers working in the fields of philosophy, anthropology, sociology, history, geography, and even biology.
