STM publisher Springer, Germany, has announced the launch of a new online-only journal, Head and Neck Pathology. The journal will be published under the Humana Press imprint, and will be available free of charge for two years on www.springerlink.com. Lester D.R. Thompson of the Southern California Permanente Medical Group and Lewis R. Eversole of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry will serve as Editors-in-Chief. They will be supported by an international editorial board.
A quarterly publication, Head and Neck Pathology is the official organ of the North American Society for Head and Neck Pathology (NASHNP). The journal will publish scholarly papers, reviews and case reports that cover the spectrum of human surgical pathology within the anatomic zones of the oral cavity, sinonasal tract, larynx, hypopharynx, salivary gland, ear and temporal bone, and neck. Also, it will publish a wide range of up-to-date topics, allowing practioners to expand their knowledge in the subspecialty of head and neck pathology. Practical applications to daily clinical practice will be supported with proceedings and symposia from the international societies and academies devoted to this field.
The North American Society for Head and Neck Pathology was founded in 1997 as a non-profit organisation to promote, exchange and disseminate information on the anatomy, physiology, pathology and basic science and clinical management of diseases involving the head and neck. The journal, Head and Neck Pathology, is co-sponsored with the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
