Publishing industry veteran Martin Mos, Chief Operating Officer and Management Board member of Springer Nature, is retiring after 19 years with the company and more than 30 years in the publishing industry. He will be succeeded by Marc Spenlé who will join Springer Nature as Chief Operating Officer and Management Board Member on September 15.
Martin’s numerous successes include overseeing the company’s digital transformation, the creation of an industry leading technology and production approach and leading the health and professional businesses to commercial success. His contribution to the growth of Springer and the successful merger to form Springer Nature has been enormous. From the digital transformation of leading academic book portfolio to the development of workflow systems that have significantly reduced publishing times for authors and enabled the growth of open access, Martin has been leading the way. He leaves behind a highly successful track record.
Marc, who was previously Chief Digital and Information Officer for Barco NV, brings a wealth of experience from the technology and telecoms industries where he held senior operational roles and led digital transformations working in multiple geographies. He will join the Management Board of Springer Nature and will take responsibility for the global operations of Springer Nature to include IT customer service, facilities and production.
