Springer Nature has announced the addition of two new journals to the Nature Portfolio: Nature Mechanical Engineering and Nature Reviews Computing. The expansion underscores the publisher’s commitment to supporting emerging research communities and strengthening collaboration across disciplines that address global challenges.
Nature Mechanical Engineering will serve as a platform for publishing significant technical advances, innovative ideas, and impactful solutions in mechanical engineering. The journal will feature original research, reviews, commentary, and opinion pieces spanning robotics, healthcare applications, space exploration, and sustainable energy. Its mission is to connect academia, industry, and policymakers, highlighting the essential role mechanical engineers play in building a sustainable and resilient future. The journal will be led by Mengying Su, PhD, based in Shanghai, supported by an in‑house editorial team.
Nature Reviews Computing will provide authoritative Reviews, Perspectives, and Comment articles across the breadth of computer science and its intersections with society. Coverage will include hardware, software systems, networks, theory of computation, numerical methods, AI and machine learning, high‑performance computing, emerging paradigms, applied computing, and related areas. The journal aims to set standards, stimulate dialog, and showcase the global impact of computer science. It will be led by Laura Schmid, PhD, based in Seoul, with a dedicated editorial team commissioning high‑quality narrative content.
