STM publisher Springer, Germany, will publish Wetlands, the official journal of the Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS), starting January 2010. The journal will join Springer’s growing portfolio of ecology journals. Dr. Darold P. Batzer of the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, will serve as the editor-in-chief of the journal.
Wetlands is an international journal concerned with all aspects of wetland biology, ecology, hydrology, water chemistry and soil and sediment characteristics as well as issues relating to management, policy and regulation. Since wetland research often involves an interdisciplinary approach, the journal will publish original papers, reviews and short communications reporting research results from all relevant disciplines.
Together with the journals Wetlands Ecology and Management and Estuaries and Coasts, Springer now leads the field in journals dedicated to wetlands research.
