STM publisher Springer, Germany, has announced that it is launching a new journal, Air Quality, Atmosphere and Health. Slated for release in February 2008, the first issue of the journal will be made available free on Springer's online information platform, SpringerLink.
A quarterly publication, Air Quality, Atmosphere and Health seeks to provide a forum for the enormous output of research in this rapidly developing area. It is projected to strengthen Springer's expanding environmental and public health publishing portfolio. The multidisciplinary journal will focus on the atmospheric consequences of human activity and its implications for human and ecological health. It will publish original research articles and integrative reviews, treating topics from local, regional and global perspectives. The subject areas will include, among others, climate change and air quality, greenhouse gases, acid precipitation, air quality management, risk assessment, atmospheric chemistry, air pollution climatology, clean air technology and forest-fire emissions.
Fast publication of articles from Air Quality, Atmosphere and Health in Online First will provide readers with immediate access to new research results on www.springerlink.com, Springer's online information platform. Cross Reference Linking and Alert services will be fully implemented for the journal. In addition, all potential authors, via the Springer Open Choice programme, have the option of publishing their articles using the open access publishing model.
