STM publisher Springer, Germany, and the International Society for Cardiovascular Translational Research (ISCTR) are founding a new, quarterly biomedical publication - Journal of Cardiovascular Translational Research (JCTR). The journal will be officially launched at the Inaugural Meeting of the International Society for Cardiovascular Translational Research scheduled for February 9-10, 2008 in San Diego.
Nabil Dib of the University of California at San Diego and Jennifer L. Hall of the University of Minnesota will serve as Editors-in-chief of the journal, the first issue of which will be published in March 2008. They will be supported by outstanding executive and editorial boards.
The Journal of Cardiovascular Translational Research will publish original papers in the areas of cellular therapy, genomics, personalized medicine and devices for the potential treatment of advanced cardiovascular disease. The journal seeks to provide outstanding peer-reviewed articles with implications for the current and future practice of clinical cardiovascular medicine. It will provide content in which translational research involving multiple disciplines such as genetics, proteomics, epidemiology and preclinical and clinical research is used interchangeably within a study to advance the understanding of disease or response to treatment.
