STM publisher Springer, Germany, has announced that it will be publishing Translational Behavioral Medicine: Practice, Policy, Research (TBM), a journal of the Society of Behavioral Medicine. The journal will debut with a special section, "Information Technology and Evidence Implementation", to be presented at an event titled "Behavioral Informatics for Health" at the Washington Press Club on April 26, 2011 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm.
Translational Behavioral Medicine is projected as an international, peer-reviewed journal offering continuous, online-first publication. Its aim is to engage, inform and catalyse dialogue among the research, practice and policy communities about behavioral medicine. It will feature original empirical studies, case studies, systematic reviews, practice tools and essays on practice and public health policies. Dr. Bonnie Spring of Northwestern University, Chicago, has been named its Editor-in-Chief.
Founded in 1978, the Society of Behavioral Medicine is a multidisciplinary organisation of clinicians, educators and scientists. It is dedicated to promoting the study of the interactions of behaviour with biology and the environment, and the application of that knowledge to improve the health and well being of individuals, families, communities and populations.
