The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP), a founding member of the Coalition for Diversity and Inclusion in Scholarly Communications (C4DISC), has reaffirmed its commitment to the coalition’s mission and principles. This reaffirmation comes amid ongoing challenges that impact academic freedom, federal research funding, the integrity of the scholarly record, and efforts supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) within the academic community.
C4DISC works with organizations and individuals to promote equity, inclusion, diversity, and accessibility throughout scholarly communications. Its vision is to foster a socially just environment that recognizes and values contributions from all participants in the field.
Member and partner organizations of C4DISC collectively uphold a shared commitment to accessible, diverse, and inclusive practices. These efforts aim to increase engagement across professional levels and identity groups by encouraging broader participation, supporting innovation, and enhancing access to leadership opportunities within the scholarly publishing ecosystem.
