Stanford University partners with PeerJ to advance open access publishing initiatives -

In a significant stride towards promoting open access publishing and fostering the global dissemination of scholarly research, Stanford University has joined forces with PeerJ, a leading open access publisher. The Lane Medical Library & Knowledge Management Center at Stanford University School of Medicine is the latest addition to PeerJ's esteemed Annual Institutional Membership (AIMs) program, reaffirming Stanford's dedication to advancing the principles of open science.

The collaboration between Stanford University and PeerJ underscores a shared commitment to breaking down barriers to access and accelerating the pace of scientific discovery. As a member of PeerJ's AIMs program, Stanford University authors gain unrestricted access to publish in any PeerJ journal without encountering any publication fees, further facilitating the dissemination of their research findings to a global audience.

Under the terms of the collaboration, Stanford-affiliated authors submitting to PeerJ journals using a verified Stanford email address will automatically qualify for fee-free publication. Additionally, individuals associated with Stanford, but using alternative email addresses, can request to publish under Stanford's Institutional Membership by contacting communities@peerj.com for further guidance.

Lane Medical Library & Knowledge Management Center's decision to join PeerJ's AIMs program builds upon their longstanding support for open access initiatives. As one of PeerJ's early supporters, their participation underscores a continued dedication to embracing innovative models of scholarly publishing and fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

The partnership between Stanford University and PeerJ represents a significant milestone in advancing open access publishing initiatives and facilitating the widespread dissemination of scholarly research. By leveraging the strengths of both institutions, the collaboration aims to empower researchers and drive innovation in scientific communication.
