The Board of Directors of Canadian Science Publishing has announced the appointment of Suzanne Kettley as Canadian Science Publishing's new Executive Director, effective immediately. She succeeds Executive Director Cameron Macdonald who has retired after 11 years with Canadian Science Publishing.
Kettley, a scientific publishing professional with more than two decades of experience, was most recently Director of Operations at Canadian Science Publishing (CSP), Canada's largest scientific publisher. Kettley brings a wealth of experience to the role of Executive Director and has an in-depth knowledge of the organisation, having held several positions in the company, including: Head of the Monograph Publishing Program, Managing Editor of the plant science suite of journals, and Deputy Director of the NRC Research Press. A practitioner of change leadership, in 2009-2010, Kettley led a team of over 50 employees during CSP’s transition from the federal government to the private sector.
Kettley was recently elected as the Vice-President/President Elect of the Canadian Association of Learned Journals (CALJ). In addition, Kettley acted as corporate secretary for the Canadian Science Publishing's Board of Directors, and has participated in committees for the Association of Canadian Publishers and the Council of Science Editors.
