Subscription services provider Swets, Netherlands, has announced that its newly developed eBooks procurement portal has entered into Beta Testing. The portal integrates a comprehensive eBook catalogue and procurement options into existing SwetsWise services, most notably SwetsWise Subscriptions. These features will provide customers with a single source for purchasing eBooks and a means to select the desired access route to their acquired content, be it by publishers directly or through an aggregator.
Swets has seen a steady increase in demand for eBook content over the past couple of years. Its customers have however raised issues with the complexity of the selection and acquisition processes that are currently available to them. SwetsWise Subscriptions facilitates the essential interaction with publishers needed to ensure the timely delivery of subscriptions in the format information users and knowledge workers require. Expanding SwetsWise's scope to include eBooks enables customers to retain their acquired unprecedented control over all content and provides them with a unique and attractive alternative to traditional book suppliers and other agencies.
The Beta Testing period for SwetsWise's eBooks portal is expected to run until early February 2010.
