Syracuse University Libraries expands open access opportunities with new agreements -

Syracuse University Libraries has signed three new “read and publish” agreements with Taylor & Francis, Elsevier, and De Gruyter, broadening the open access publishing options available to Syracuse University researchers. These agreements, which particularly benefit scholars in the humanities and social sciences, mark a significant step in advancing the visibility and impact of SU-affiliated research.

With these latest additions, Syracuse University Libraries now offers a total of fifteen read and publish agreements. These agreements enable SU-affiliated authors to publish their work as open access at no cost to them, ensuring that their scholarly contributions are freely accessible worldwide. Open access publishing removes barriers for readers, allowing anyone to use these works free of charge and with minimal copyright restrictions, greatly enhancing the reach and influence of SU authors.

Details of the new agreements include:

• Taylor & Francis: SU-affiliated authors can publish open access in both hybrid and fully open access journals, including Routledge titles.

• Elsevier: Authors can publish openly in all eligible Core Hybrid journals.

• De Gruyter: Researchers can publish openly in hybrid, gold open access, and Subscribe to Open titles.

Syracuse University researchers are encouraged to take advantage of these agreements to maximize the impact of their work. Further details and instructions for utilizing the agreements are available in the Libraries’ Read & Publish Agreements and APC Coverage Research Guide.

By expanding its open access initiatives, Syracuse University Libraries continues to support the global dissemination of knowledge and the advancement of academic scholarship.
