The Tasmanian Department of Health has launched a newly enhanced state-wide online resource portal, Electronic Portal for Online Clinical Help (EPOCH), available for clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals and administrators in the local public healthcare system. EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) will build the portal, supply and manage online resources and provide support services to the Department of Health.
EPOCH serves as the main portal for healthcare professionals in Tasmania. The portal provides health practitioners, ancillary staff and students working for the Tasmanian State Service to access to high-quality health and social care information resources and clinical, evidence-based information to support decision-making, service planning, education and research. Portal resources include medicines information, point-of-care tools, clinical guidelines and standards, electronic journals and textbooks, and research databases.
This portal is made available by Stacks, EBSCO’s web-based content management system. Search capabilities are offered via EBSCO Discovery Service™ and authentication access is provided by OpenAthens, a single sign-on system that allows end users to access a range of quality information resources anywhere, anytime. Point of care tools include DynaMed®, EBSCO Clinical Decisions’ evidence-based clinical decision support platform.
