Taylor & Francis has signed a three-year open access (OA) agreement with CRUI (Conferenza dei Rettori delle Università Italiane), the association representing Italian state and private universities. Under the agreement, 33 CRUI member institutions have opted into a read-and-publish arrangement that allows affiliated researchers to publish eligible journal articles open access without paying individual article publishing charges.
The OA publishing component covers eligible research articles published in more than 2,100 Taylor & Francis and Routledge Open Select hybrid journals. The portfolio includes titles across social sciences, humanities, science, technology, engineering, and medicine. Articles published under the agreement will be immediately accessible upon publication and available for reading, downloading, and reuse by researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and the public.
The three-year agreement is backdated to January 2025, allowing eligible articles published by researchers at participating CRUI institutions since that date to be retrospectively converted to open access.
The read component of the agreement provides students and faculty with continued access to scholarly journals. Participating institutions can select titles from Taylor & Francis' broader journal portfolio, which includes thousands of journals and millions of articles. Additional subscriptions beyond the core agreement are available at discounted rates.
