Publisher Taylor & Francis, UK, has announced that the journal Virtual and Physical Prototyping will be published online only from 2011. The journal is currently published in print and online formats and will launch its online only edition with Volume 6 in 2011.
Taking full advantage of the benefits of online publishing, it is expected that the journal will enrich the experience of its community of researchers and practitioners. Key to the field of rapid and virtual prototyping are design, modelling and simulation that are not usually well conveyed through print. With online only publishing, research papers have increased opportunities that include supplementary data sets, colour images at no cost, animation, videos and further evolution of online media that will greatly enhance the content experience of the journal and further engage with the community.
Virtual and Physical Prototyping was first published in 2006. Endorsed by the Global Alliance of Rapid Prototyping Associations (GARPA), the journal provides professionals and academics with cutting edge research and discussion in the area of rapid and virtual prototyping.
Edited by Paulo Jorge da Silva Bártolo and Chee Kai Chua, and supported by an international editorial board, the journal is available through Taylor & Francis' informaworld platform at http://www.informaworld.com/NVPP. It has an online submission and peer-review system using ScholarOne Manuscripts to speed up the peer review process and maximise outreach to international authors.
