Taylor & Francis has officially launched its most advanced eReader to date, transforming the digital reading experience for users of its eBooks platform. With accessibility and personalization as core priorities, the eReader is designed to cater to a diverse audience, from students and researchers to general readers.
The new eReader consolidates features previously offered through two separate options into a single, versatile application. It provides an enriched user experience with tools like enhanced search, offline access, and customizable reading settings.
The eReader was developed in collaboration with Taylor & Francis' accessibility team and aligns with the European Accessibility Act. It supports ePub3, the industry-standard format for accessible eBooks, now available for more than 175,000 titles in the Taylor & Francis collection.
Key accessibility features include text-to-speech functionality in multiple languages, enabling users to have content read aloud. Additionally, readers can adjust font sizes and styles to suit their needs, ensuring a fully adaptable and inclusive experience.
Equipped with a responsive design, the eReader works seamlessly across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. Users can download content in ePub or PDF formats, allowing for uninterrupted reading even offline. The tool also includes options for bookmarking, annotating, and managing notes in a centralized location for ease of access.
For academic users, the eReader offers an advanced search tool that enables quick navigation to specific terms, phrases, or concepts within the text. Integration with popular reference management software like EndNote and RefWorks simplifies bibliographic data management and citation exports.
The new Taylor & Francis eReader is now live and accessible on the eBooks platform's book and chapter pages. Its launch represents a significant milestone in the publisher’s ongoing commitment to accessibility and innovation, ensuring that readers of all backgrounds and needs can engage with content in a way that works best for them.
