TDNet launches eBook Manager service for libraries -

e-resource access and management solutions provider TDNet Inc., US, has announced the launch of its new eBook Manager. Claimed to be the industry's first service of its kind, the new eBook Manager provides libraries with the necessary tool for accessing, resolving, and managing e-books.

eBook Manager is the latest addition to TDNet's comprehensive suite of services. It currently contains content from such leading publishers as Elsevier, Oxford University Press, Springer, Electric eBook Publishing, Blackwell Publishing, and from aggregators, including Ebrary, ScienceDirect, NetLibrary, Knovel Library, Ingenta Connect, Oxford Reference Online, MyiLibrary and many other prominent e-book suppliers. The service supports a wide variety of searching options. These include search for books only, combined book & journal search, or search via an independent book search screen. Users also can perform rapid searches for specific e-book content using book title, ISBN, volume, issue, edition, year, book author, editor, publisher, or vendor.

Free e-books are also represented in the eBook Manager knowledgebase. As a stand-alone service, eBook Manager features a customisable A to Z interface that allows users to search and access e-book holdings, or when integrated with TDNet's Journal Manager, users can perform simultaneous searches of both journals and e-books. Additionally, users can resolve book citations and link to content at the book level using TDNet's OpenURL link resolver service.
