Techstreet, a Thomson Reuters Intellectual Property & Science business, has announced a new online marketplace for the American Petroleum Institute (API), designed to provide oil and gas engineers with immediate access to API best-in-class publications and technical standards. Techstreet created the architecture and is hosting the global online store for API at http://www.techstreet.com/api/apigate.html.

The new API online store uses advanced web technologies to provide customers with best practices for standards in health and safety, environmental protection, regulatory and legislative compliance and business operations. Seamless navigation, advanced search and one-click access to historical and redline documents provide accurate and immediate results among API's 600 technical standards and 1,000 research papers and publications. Customers can order print copies or quickly download PDF editions with full copyright protection.

The online store also includes time-saving account management tools, a publication and standards tracking alert service and other value added services such as Techpoint Customer Rewards programme for repeat customers.

The American Petroleum Institute claims to be the only national trade association that represents all aspects of America's oil and natural gas industry. More than 400 corporate members, from the largest major oil company to the smallest of independents, come from all segments of the industry. They are producers, refiners, suppliers, pipeline operators and marine transporters, as well as service and supply companies that support all segments of the industry.
