Tel Aviv University opts for Ex Libris Primo, with the Primo Central Index -

Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group, Israel, has announced that Tel Aviv University has selected the Primo discovery and delivery solution, together with its Primo Central Index of scholarly content. The University's over 30,000 students and staff will now gain easy, unified access to the library's collection of local and global resources.

Offered as an integral part of Primo, Primo Central is a mega-index of hundreds of millions of scholarly e-resources that are harvested from primary and secondary publishers and aggregators and from open-access repositories. Through a single search box, users can explore their library's locally managed collections along with the global and regional resources indexed in Primo Central.

Primo displays the results in a single, relevance-ranked result list; provides seamless access to online materials; and, through the incorporation of OPAC functionality, enables users to carry out library activities, such as placing hold requests and managing their personal accounts, directly in the Primo window.
