The tenth annual SIIA Information Industry Summit was held in New York City from January 25-26, 2011. With the theme 'Moving from Wired to Wireless', the summit addressed a variety of timely and challenging issues shaping the industry, including mobile business models and content delivery, as well as the top mobile technology trends. Additionally, a special dinner on the evening of January 25th served as the venue for recognising winners of the CODIE Awards in the categories relating to digital content products and services.
The Information Industry Summit's featured speakers and panelists explored a variety of topics - from mobile M&A opportunities and emerging mobile devices, to semantic technology and the social data revolution. Keynote speakers included Clare Hart, President and Chief Executive Officer, Infogroup; Marty Kahn, Chief Executive Officer, ProQuest; Malcolm Frank, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategist, Cognizant; and Jonathan Knee, Senior Managing Director, Evercore.
A special feature of the Summit was the SIIA Previews - an introduction to emerging content and content technology businesses that are revolutionising the information marketplace. These companies presented their innovative technologies and strategies that have them on the path to success. The audience was asked to vote for the Preview company best poised for success. The winner (RapidBuyr) was awarded the "Most Likely to Succeed" award during the CODiE Awards Dinner.
